Announcement of the additional special holiday for financial institutions and specialized financial institutions in Bangkok
The Bank of Thailand issued this announcement to designate 16 October 2026 as an additional holiday for financial institutions and specialized financial institutions in Bangkok. This measure supports the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group by facilitating travel and enhancing security for attending officials. Institutions are also requested to allow staff to work from home on 12, 14, and 15 October 2026, while maintaining core operations where necessary to prevent service disruption.
