The circular requires all registered investment advisers to make the Investor Charter available to clients by prominently displaying it on their websites or mobile applications, and, where no such digital platform exists, to send the Charter to investors at their registered e‑mail address as a one‑time measure. It also obliges investment advisers to disclose, in the revised format set out in Annexure B, the status of investor complaints on a monthly basis by the 7th of the succeeding month, with the same disclosure to be sent by e‑mail for advisers without a website or app. Additionally, advisers must provide a link or option on their digital platforms for investors to lodge complaints directly and may include a link to the SEBI SCORES portal; these disclosure requirements become effective on 1 January 2022.
