Regulation No 14/2011 on the Publication of Tariff of Interest Rates and Fees Applied by Banks
The National Bank of Rwanda issued Regulation No 14/2011 to mandate commercial banks to publish their minimum and maximum interest rates and service fees. Banks must disclose these tariffs in three official languages via local newspapers, websites, brochures, and prominent on-site displays while liberalizing rate negotiations between parties. Any subsequent modifications must be communicated to the public and the Central Bank within fifteen days, with non-compliance subject to pecuniary sanctions under existing banking regulations.
