The Securities Commission of The Bahamas informs licensees and registrants that the UN Security Council has extended the sanctions regime on South Sudan, including the arms embargo, travel ban, and asset freeze, until 31 May 2024. This extension is mandated by Resolution 2683 (2023), which renews measures previously imposed by Resolutions 2428 (2018) and 2206 (2015). Licensees and registrants are required to take all appropriate actions to ensure full compliance with section 3A of the International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, Part IV of the Anti-Terrorism Act, and section 8 of the Anti-Terrorism Regulations regarding these extended measures.
