The Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) proposes to raise the threshold for firms subject to the Resolution Assessment Part's reporting and disclosure requirements from £50 billion to £100 billion in retail deposits, and to reduce the minimum frequency for Small Domestic Deposit Takers (SDDTs) to review their recovery plans from annually to biennially. These changes aim to ensure the resolution and recovery frameworks remain proportionate to the risks addressed, reduce regulatory burden on smaller firms, and maintain robust requirements for UK financial stability. Applicable to PRA-authorised UK banks and building societies, these proposals would amend the Resolution Assessment and Recovery Plans Parts of the Rulebook, with an expected implementation date in H1 2026.
