Basel II Industry Training for South African Banks
The South African Reserve Bank’s Registrar of Banks is hosting industry training sessions to prepare financial institutions for the 1 January 2008 Basel II implementation and corresponding regulatory amendments. Three three-day workshops will convene in Pretoria from May to August 2007, using Draft 4 of the Proposed Regulations to systematically cover statutory requirements and securitisation exemptions. Attendees must complete registration and pay the R1,500 fee by 26 April 2007 to secure a place at the Head Office conference centre.
