The Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina amends the foreign currency operational regime for financial entities, effective May 2, 1991. Credit unions, housing savings and loan societies, and financial companies are authorized to conduct foreign currency transactions including currency exchange, drafts, checks, and arbitrage. The regulation updates the list of participating entities and sets maximum daily limits for foreign currency deposits at three times and 1.5 times the previous month's net worth for banks and other entities, respectively. Financial companies operating under this regime must maintain the minimum net worth required by Circular LISOL-1.
