This regulation amends the asset quality assessment rules for Islamic commercial banks and Islamic business units to promote economic growth and export competitiveness. It introduces new provisions classifying export-oriented productive assets as 'performing' under specific sovereign or export-financing conditions, and establishes detailed criteria for collateral valuation thresholds based on loan amounts. Additionally, it revises the rules for upgrading the asset quality of restructured financing, allowing for faster upgrades based on payment performance while maintaining prudential standards.

To increase Indonesia's economic growth and national competitiveness, efforts are needed to promote the intermediary function of Islamic banking through adjustments to provisions regarding bank asset quality assessment. The aforementioned provisions are expected to increase the potential for Bank Financing expansion conducted in a measurable manner while still paying attention to prudential principles. The aforementioned provisions are focused on promoting the growth of priority sectors, namely the housing sector, and increasing foreign exchange reserves through the provision of export-oriented funds. In light of these considerations, banking policies are needed to promote economic growth.
