BRPD-1 Circular Letter No. 13: Regarding Banking Professional Exam

Ref: BRPD-1 Circular Letter No. 13 Date: ------------------- 16 Bangabda 1433 Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer All Scheduled Banks operating in Bangladesh Dear Sir, Regarding Banking Professional Exam Reference is drawn to your attention to BRPD Circular No. 02 dated January 16, 2025, issued on the subject cited above.

2. Through the aforementioned circular, instructions were issued regarding the Banking Professional Exam for the promotion of banking staff to ensure the retention of skilled human resources with basic banking knowledge. Now, to maintain the professional mobility of skilled human resources in the banking sector, paragraph 2(g) of the aforementioned circular is hereby replaced as follows:

'2(g) From January 1, 2026, in the case of any employee of a bank or finance company being appointed to a higher position in another bank, they must pass the Banking Professional Exam. However, in the case of an employee who has completed more than 15 years after joining or being promoted to the position of Senior Officer or an equivalent rank, the obligation to pass the Banking Professional Exam for appointment to another bank will not apply based on banking experience.'

3. In addition, other instructions of the aforementioned circular will remain unchanged.

4. These instructions are issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.

5. These instructions will take effect immediately.
