Bangladesh Bank establishes a 20,000 crore Taka pre-finance scheme to provide working capital loans to partially or fully closed large industry and service sector enterprises, with priority given to export-oriented units. Participating scheduled banks must pay a 4% quarterly interest to the central bank and charge customers a maximum of 7%, with loan tenors capped at one year and individual exposure limits restricted to 200 crore Taka. The scheme mandates strict verification of production capacity, prohibits the use of funds for debt restructuring, and holds banks fully responsible for credit risk and recovery.
