The Bangladesh Bank mandates that scheduled banks must require jute bag usage by manufacturers and suppliers of rice, wheat, corn, fertilizer, sugar, chili, turmeric, onion, ginger, garlic, pulses, coriander, potato, flour, and bran/husk when providing, renewing, or distributing loans. Banks are instructed to deny credit facilities to non-compliant entities and report quarterly progress using a specified format to the Banking Regulation and Policy Department by the 15th of the following month.
