Bangladesh Bank mandates that scheduled banks provide special health insurance coverage of 500,000 to 1,000,000 BDT for employees infected with COVID-19 while performing duties during government-declared general holidays. In the event of death due to the virus, a special grant equal to five times the insurance amount is payable to the family, and banks must cover actual medical expenses for any accidents occurring during travel or duty. These measures are effective from the start of the general holidays and remain valid for 30 days after the holidays end.
