BRPD Circular Letter No. 23: LC margin for importing child food
The Bangladesh Bank clarifies that essential child food is excluded from the 100% cash margin requirement for import letters of credit, which was previously mandated for non-cereal food products and processed foods under BRPD Circular Letter No. 41/2024. Consequently, banks must determine the cash margin rate for child food imports based on the bank-customer relationship. This directive takes immediate effect.
