Dear Sir,
Regarding the provision of special care in providing banking services to freedom fighters, the elderly, widows, and customers with special needs. Freedom fighters, the elderly, widows, and customers with special needs visit banks to avail banking services. Due to the lack of special arrangements in banks to provide banking services to such customers, they face various difficulties. Compared to other customers, senior citizens are relatively sensitive. Therefore, it is necessary to consider providing additional facilities for their service provision.
02. In the field of providing banking services to freedom fighters, the elderly, widows, and customers with special needs, the following instructions are to be followed from now on:
2.1. Banks must maintain priority seating arrangements at their head offices and all branch premises for freedom fighters, the elderly, widows, and customers with special needs;
2.2. The desired banking services for the aforementioned customers must be completed without delay, easily, and as quickly as possible; and
2.3. To facilitate the availing of banking services by the aforementioned customers, banks must specifically assign one (1) officer/employee to each of their branches and every service center.
03. These instructions are issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991.
