CBE Regulation Book 3.13 - Deposit A Percentage 10 Of The Balances Of Customers Deposits In Foreign Currencies

Banks registered with the Central Bank of Egypt must deposit 10% of their customers' foreign currency deposit balances with the Central Bank. This deposit is calculated as of the last day of March each year and is denominated in US Dollars, with settlements occurring every six months on the last day of June and December. Banks are required to submit Form No. 1000 to the Central Bank within 15 days following the end of each six-month period to report the relevant balances.
