Instruction Normative No. 629 amends Instruction Normative No. 512 to establish a maximum transaction value limit of R$500.00 for Pix transactions initiated by proximity for natural person payer users. Participants providing Pix transactional accounts must set this maximum limit per transaction, while payer users may establish their own lower daily limits. The regulation mandates that requests for limit reductions be accepted immediately and allows participants to accept limit increase requests at their discretion. These provisions apply to transactions initiated via payment transaction initiation services without redirection and enter into force on December 1, 2025.

NOTE
Decree No. 10,411, of June 30, 2020, provides for the mandatory implementation of a regulatory impact analysis (AIR) for the issuance of normative acts of general interest produced by the organs and entities of the direct and indirect federal public administration.
However, as defined in paragraph 8 of Vote 280/2021–BCB, of November 10, 2021, the Pix Regulation, including other documents that integrate, detail, or complement it, do not constitute a regulatory act of binding force, but rather have an essentially contractual nature. Thus, modifications made to the aforementioned regulation and to the other documents that integrate, detail, or complement it are not subject to the prior production of an AIR.
