Central Bank of Myanmar Foreign Exchange Spread Directive (Instruction 11-2021)
The Central Bank of Myanmar issued Instruction 11-2021 to standardize foreign exchange spreads for Authorized Dealers and Money Changers. The directive replaces the May 12, 2021 reference and mandates a ±0.8 percent trading band around the CBM Mid-Rate, effective June 4, 2021. Financial institutions must adjust their buy and sell rates to comply with the new spread limits, ensuring market consistency across currency transactions.
