The Central Bank of Myanmar issued Instruction 4/2022 to all Authorized Dealer banks, mandating compliance with Draft Order No. 12/2022 effective April 4, 2022. The directive requires AD banks to maintain a minimum foreign exchange balance of 1,850 Myanmar kyat per US dollar in their FX accounts and to apply this threshold to other currencies based on CBM-published exchange rates.
