Central Bank of the UAE Internal Controls, Compliance and Internal Audit Standards 161/2018

All Banks must comply with these mandatory Standards, which expand on the Regulation. The Board is ultimately responsible for implementing a comprehensive internal control, compliance, and internal audit framework. The compliance function must conduct bi-annual AML/CTF assessments and transmit reports to the Central Bank's Financial Intelligence Department (FID). Internal audit activities must not be outsourced to the external audit firm.
