Central Bank's Rate of Interest on Advances (Bank Rate)
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka issued Circular No. 01 of 2022 to inform Licensed Commercial Banks of an adjustment to the Bank Rate effective 03 November 2022. The new rate is calculated as the Average Weighted New Deposit Rate plus a margin of 700 basis points. This administratively determined rate serves as the benchmark for extraordinary loans granted by the Central Bank during emergency periods.
