Characteristics of Payment Instruments Issued by Financial Entities – Updated Ordered Text

Starting 1 November 2009, all checks and bills of exchange must show the account opening month and year in Arabic numerals to the right of the account number, and the attached model pages are to be incorporated into Section 2 of the ordered text of the payment‑instrument regulations. The amendment applies to any standardizations carried out from that date and must be reflected in the customization of documents that follow earlier standardizations.

Characteristics of payment instruments issued by financial entities. Ordered text update.

We address you to inform that, in accordance with the provisions of point 20 of Communication “A” 4971, the attached sheets must be incorporated into Section 2 of the ordered text of the reference regulations.

In this regard, the text of the documents (checks and bills of exchange) must include, to the right of the account number, the account opening date, specifying month and year in Arabic numerals, as indicated in the accompanying models.

This modification will be effective for standardizations carried out from 01.11.09 and must be incorporated at the time of customizing documents that conform to earlier standardizations.
