CIEX No. 44/2022: Payment Services Regulation, Electronic Payment Instruments, Compensation and Settlement
The Central Bank of Bolivia approved the new Regulation on Payment Services, Electronic Payment Instruments, Compensation and Settlement (RSPIEPCL) via Board Resolution No. 079/2022 to regulate payment services, electronic instruments, and compensation and settlement within the national payment system. The regulation establishes the framework for the creation and operation of Compensation and Settlement Chambers and Payment Service Entities, sets rules for payment gateway operations, mandates interoperability, and defines deadlines for implementing immediate QR payments. It repeals Board Resolutions No. 069/2021 and No. 129/2021 and applies from the date of publication.
