CIEX No. 49/2020: Modification of Circular CIEX No. 26/2020 on Requirements and Conditions for Cash Withdrawals via POS Terminals
The Central Bank of Bolivia replaces Circular CIEX No. 26/2020 with new requirements and conditions for cash withdrawals from Electronic Payment Instruments (EPIs) at affiliated merchants. The maximum transaction amount is set at Bs300, with no fees charged to the user and no tax obligations generated for the client or merchant. Financial entities, card administrators, and merchants must adapt their systems and configurations by December 31, 2020. The service is optional and restricted to specific commercial sectors such as supermarkets, pharmacies, and gas stations.
