Circular 13/2010 — Modifies Circular 8/2010

The Bank of Mexico modifies the Rules for the Auctions of US Dollar Put Options to allow credit institutions that received allocations in these auctions to offer parallel put options to their clients under the same terms as those assigned by the central bank, except for the premium. These client-facing options and related foreign exchange transactions are exempt from counting toward the foreign exchange risk positions of multiple and development banks, as well as from the Liability Admission and Investment Regimes. The modification applies to operations conducted after April 14, 2010, and retroactively to prior operations meeting the same criteria, provided no administrative sanctioning procedure has been initiated.
