Circular 2026-0067: Local Reference Interest Rate for Residential Mortgage Loans for the Third Quarter of 2026
The Superintendence of Banks of Panama issued Circular 2026-0067 to officially announce the Local Reference Interest Rate for Residential Mortgage Loans for the third quarter of 2026. The circular specifies that the rate is set at 6.50% annually, calculated as the nearest quarter percentage point to the 6.38% reference rate derived from Law No. 3 of 1985. This rate applies exclusively to loans covered by Law No. 3 of May 20, 1985, and its subsequent modifications.
