SUBJECT: Modifications to Circular 9/2023 on Cash Operations regarding the circulation of commemorative banknotes for the one hundred years of the founding of the Bank of Mexico. TO CREDIT INSTITUTIONS:
The Bank of Mexico, based on the provisions of articles 28, paragraphs seventh and eighth, of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, 2nd, 3rd, fraction I, 4th, 24, paragraphs first and second, and 25 of the Bank of Mexico Law, 48 of the Credit Institutions Law, 1st, 4th, paragraphs first and fourth, 8th, paragraphs fourth and eighth, 10, paragraph first, 16 Bis, fraction II, and 17, fraction I, of the Internal Regulations of the Bank of Mexico, as well as Second, fractions III and X, of the Agreement on the Assignment of Administrative Units of the Bank of Mexico, has resolved to put into circulation for a transitional period to be determined by the Bank itself, legal tender commemorative banknotes in denominations of $50, $100, $200, $500 and $1,000 Type G with the legend "100 Aniversario 1925-2025" and, consequently, modify Annexes 20 3/6, item 1.2.7 and 25 4/4, of Circular 9/2023 on Cash Operations (Circular). The banknotes subject to this Circular will coexist with the Type G banknotes of the same denominations put into circulation starting August 27, 2018. The aforementioned banknotes will have the same characteristics as the $50, $100, $200, $500 and $1,000 Type G banknotes, with the following addition:
The legend "100 Aniversario 1925-2025", below the monogram and the text Bank of Mexico, on the obverse of the notes.

The deposits of banknotes of these denominations that credit institutions make at the Bank of Mexico or its correspondents may be carried out without the need to separate the banknotes with the new characteristics from the other Type G banknotes of the same denomination. Finally, the modifications referred to in this communication will enter into force on this same date. 1.2.6 Type "F" Banknotes (includes Type "F1"). Issued by the Bank of Mexico to replace Type "D" Banknotes, with denominations of 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000, as well as 50 Type "F1", representative of the monetary unit in effect as of January 1, 1993 and are denominated in pesos, in accordance with the Decrees published in the Official Journal of the Federation on June 22, 1992 and November 15, 1995. These Banknotes have characteristics different from Type "D" Banknotes. Type "F" Banknotes of 50 pesos printed on polymer and 1000 pesos printed on paper are currently in the Withdrawal Process.
