Circular CAMEX 1 - 279

The Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina replaces the monetary correction clauses for regulated foreign exchange insurance contracts with new interest rate formulas effective April 1, 1991. From April 1 to April 30, 1991, the common savings account interest rate, adjusted for minimum cash requirements and compounded, plus a 1% nominal monthly charge, applies. Starting May 1, 1991, calculations are based on a weighted average of common and fixed-term savings account interest rates in australes, increased by 90% monthly. Total or partial cancellations of matured contracts require the application of the common savings account interest rate, and provisionally settled contracts must be re-settled within 10 business days.
