Regulation on the own funds of credit institutions

Dear Sir,
Dear Madam,

By my Circular D1/TB/332 of 13 July last, I transmitted to you, for information and pending approval by the competent Ministers, the decree of the Commission of 4 July 2000 amending the decrees of 5 December 1995 relating to the own funds of credit institutions and stock exchange companies, as well as a brief commentary on the modifications made by this decree.

The modifying decree of the Commission has since been approved by the Ministers of Finance and the Economy by ministerial decree of 3 August 2000 and published in the Belgian Monitor of 15 August 2000.

I also inform you that the Commission's services have prepared an updated coordinated version of the regulations on the own funds of credit institutions (decree, commentary) and stock exchange companies (decree, commentary) (unofficial coordination), as well as the related commentary. These texts can be consulted on the website of the Banking and Financial Commission (www.cbf.be) and will also be published in brochure form. An adaptation of the supplementary description tables for Scheme A affected by these modifications is currently being prepared.
