Circular dated February 12, 2026 regarding reducing the reserve ratio from 18% to 16%
The Central Bank of Egypt reduces the cash reserve ratio that banks are obligated to maintain with the Central Bank of Egypt from 18% to 16%. This decision is effective for the reserve ratio period starting from February 17 to March 2, 2026, based on average balances from January 20 to February 2, 2026. Existing decisions regarding the reserve ratio remain in force.
