Circular dated January 11, 2016 regarding the ratio of the value of the installments due to the individual’s monthly income regarding the loan portfolio for consumer purposes

The Central Bank of Egypt mandates that banks ensure the total monthly installments for consumer loans and personal housing loans do not exceed 35% of an individual's net monthly income. This threshold is increased to 40% specifically for personal housing loans granted under Law No. 148 of 2001. The regulation applies to all consumer loans issued from the date of notification to the banks.
