Circular dated March 6, 2017 regarding notifying the Central Bank before procuring foreign currencies for government agencies
Banks are required to notify the Central Bank of Egypt before procuring foreign currencies for any government agencies, including public economic bodies, public sector business companies, public sector companies, and their contractors and suppliers, without any minimum threshold. This instruction is effective immediately and applies to all relevant banking institutions.
