Circular dated November 21, 2022 regarding the Cabinet’s decision related to the Central Bank’s low-yield initiatives
The Central Bank of Egypt extends the deadline for banks to achieve a 25% credit portfolio allocation to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and a 10% sub-allocation to small enterprises from December 31, 2022, to December 31, 2023. This extension applies to the directive issued via the circular dated February 22, 2021, requiring banks to maintain these specific lending ratios. All other provisions of the original instructions remain in effect.
