The document mandates new XML file standards for investment fund reporting, specifically updating the Composition and Diversification of Applications (CDA), Fund Information Extract, and Monthly Profile. The CDA version 3.0 becomes mandatory for specific fund types starting with the July 2007 report, while the Fund Information Extract and Monthly Profile adopt new formats effective immediately or for the June 2007 period. These changes align with portfolio composition limits established by CVM Instruction 450/07 and require administrators to adhere to revised data structures and additional questions regarding foreign investments and issuer limits.

CIRCULAR LETTER CVM/SMI NO. 01/2007.
Rio de Janeiro, June 12, 2007.
Subject: New standards for investment fund information files
Dear Sir,
Considering the new portfolio composition limits created by CVM Instruction No. 450/07 and the needs of the indirect supervision area of investment funds, the Superintendence of Market and Intermediary Relations of the CVM communicates to fund administrators the alteration of the XML file standards for the documents "Composition and Diversification of Applications Statement (CDA)", "Fund Information Extract", and "Monthly Profile".
The CDA file will gain a new version (3.0), which will create specific blocks to report fund applications abroad, in titles linked to agribusiness and private credit, and titles of responsibility of financial institutions. The tables of application types and asset types have been revised and expanded, as well as other auxiliary tables introduced, in order to allow better identification of asset characteristics.
This version applies OBLIGATORILY to funds of the types listed below starting from the July/2007 CDA (final delivery deadline 10/08/2007):
Investment Funds regulated by CVM Instruction No. 409/04; Mutual Funds for Privatization FGTS and FMP FGTS CL; Individual Programmed Retirement Funds – FAPI; and Market Index Investment Funds – Index Funds regulated by CVM Instruction No. 359/02.
However, optionally, the June/2007 CDA (final delivery deadline 10/07/2007) may already be submitted according to the new standard, for all funds of the types mentioned above.
The "Fund Information Extract" file will have the order of questions changed, grouping them by subject to facilitate filling out, in addition to incorporating 15 new questions linked mainly to investment abroad and limits by types of issuers. From 01/07/2007, every "Fund Information Extract" sent to the CVM must comply with the new standard being published.
The "Monthly Profile" document will gain 5 new questions and the new standard will be mandatory already for the June/2007 period (final delivery deadline 10/07/2007).
Finally, we inform you that the new file standards are already available for consultation on the CVM website, through the links "Document Submission > XML File Standards and Others".
Sincerely,
