Circular Letter No. 1,851 — Establishes the use of a specific demonstrative map for calculating mandatory reserve requirements on linked savings deposits

CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 1,851

To:
Real Estate Credit Companies, Savings Banks, and Savings and Loan Associations

In view of the provisions of item VI of Resolution No. 1,443, dated January 5, 1988, we clarify that, regarding the mandatory reserve on linked savings deposits established in accordance with letter "a" of item IX of the aforementioned Resolution, as amended by Resolution No. 1,519, dated September 21, 1988, the same rules established for the mandatory reserve on free savings deposits from individuals apply, in addition to those fixed therein.

2. For the purpose of calculating the mandatory reserve referred to in letter "a" of item I of Resolution No. 1,519, dated September 21, 1988, observing the provisions of Circular Letter No. 1,831, dated September 9, 1988, the annex "DEMONSTRATIVE OF THE DUE – MANDATORY RESERVE – Linked Passbook" shall be used, which must be filled out and delivered to this Central Bank/Banking Operations Department–DEBAN or to its Regional Representations having jurisdiction over the institution, by the business day prior to that scheduled for the deposit collection in question.

3. Circular Letter No. 1,785, dated April 6, 1988, is hereby revoked.
