Circular Letter
To all credit institutions and to the Post and Telecommunications enterprise Subject: Foreign Direct Investment Surveys
Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
Pursuant to the provisions of the single article of the Law of June 28, 2000 amending the Grand Ducal Regulation of November 10, 1944 relating to foreign exchange control, the Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL) and the Central Service for Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) are jointly responsible for compiling the balance of payments and the global external position of Luxembourg. Paragraph 1 of the single article of the aforementioned law indicates, among other things, that STATEC is responsible for foreign direct investment surveys. Within the framework of the collaboration between these two institutions, the BCL is responsible for collecting statistics from credit institutions and the Post and Telecommunications enterprise.
The foreign direct investment surveys concern all direct investment relationships that the declarants have established in their capacity as subsidiaries, affiliated companies, or branches of a non-resident investor or with their own subsidiaries, affiliated companies, or branches established abroad.
The questionnaires and the explanatory notes relating thereto can be downloaded, in French and English, from the BCL website (www.bcl.lu).
In the event of a discrepancy between the French and English texts, the French version shall prevail.
The completed questionnaires must be submitted before June 30, 2015. If your institution experiences delays, we invite you to inform us of this before this date, via a duly motivated letter.
