Circular Monetary Regulations - REMON 1 - 84. Minimum Cash in National Currency and Application of Lending Capacity of Deposits at Regulated Rates. Complementary Norms

Effective January 1983, financial entities must increase their minimum cash requirement by the unapplied margin from the lending capacity of deposits at regulated rates. No less than 60% of the average monthly items subject to this requirement must be maintained in a designated account from the Form 3000 submission date. Withdrawals require prior Central Bank authorization with justification. Entities may use this lending capacity for inter-financial loans at rates not exceeding the Central Bank maximum, provided borrowed funds finance operations subject to the maximum interest rate requirement. Transfers must be labeled “TASA REGULADA” on Form 2677.
