Circular No. 1/2025 Regarding Cash and Coin Services
The Central Bank of Jordan requires licensed banks to confirm compliance with previous directives regarding the provision of coin deposit services and the availability of banknotes and coins in all denominations at main centers and branches. The memorandum mandates that banks equip their branches with coin counting machines and maintain appropriate quantities of coins to meet customer demand. This directive applies to all licensed banks under the authority of the Central Bank of Jordan.

Further to my memoranda No. (2024/5) dated 2024/3/4 concerning meeting customers' needs for banknotes and coins and providing them in all denominations at your main centers and branches, I request confirmation of the contents of the aforementioned memorandum regarding the provision of coin deposit services and meeting customers' needs for banknotes and coins. In the Central Bank's commitment to meeting your needs and the needs of customers for Jordanian currency (banknotes and coins), I emphasize the necessity for you to take further measures and procedures at your main centers and branches regarding this matter. Additionally, it is essential to equip your branches with coin counting machines and to maintain appropriate quantities of these coins to meet customer needs.
