The Central Bank of Jordan mandates that licensed banks must explicitly include the audit of their Jordan branch financial statements in the scope of engagement for their external auditors. This requirement addresses repeated instances where auditors declined responsibility for these specific statements and ensures full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards. The directive reinforces previous regulations issued in 2007 regarding financial data forms.

Circular to Licensed Banks
Greetings,
Subsequent to our Circular No. (10/1/11141) dated 12/11/2007 and its attached financial data forms, and in light of repeated references by several external auditors stating that they did not review and/or audit the separate financial statements of the Jordan branch, and therefore are not responsible for those statements, I hereby emphasize the necessity of taking the appropriate measures regarding the relationship between the bank and its external auditor. This must include ensuring that the scope of tasks assigned to the auditor involves the review/audit of the Jordan branch's data, thereby ensuring full compliance with the requirements of our aforementioned circular, including the conformity of the data with International Financial Reporting Standards requirements in particular.
