Circular No. 2476 — Redefines rules for compulsory collection on resources of deposits and guarantees made

monetary

Compulsory collection applies to balances in COSIF accounts 4.1.1.60.00-2, 4.1.1.75.00-4, 4.1.1.85.00-1 and 4.9.9.60.00-8 of multiple banks with investment and/or credit, financing and investment portfolios, investment banks and credit, financing and investment societies. Rates are 100% of the arithmetic average of daily balances for the first three accounts and 60% for guarantee resources, calculated over Monday-to-Friday business days and adjusted on the following Friday. Collection must be paid in cash without remuneration; institutions must file statement model 24031-0 by the penultimate business day before adjustment, with a R$50.00 fine per late or replaced position. Institutions whose collection is R$5,000.00 or less are exempt but must file; zero-balance institutions are exempt from filing. Deficiencies incur financial costs based on SELIC plus 30% per year. The Circular enters into force on publication, effective from the 16.09.94 adjustment, and revokes Circular No. 2.168 of 29.04.92.
