Circular No. 2938: Amends the Minimum Amount for Requiring Client Identification in the Central Credit Risk System

Amends Circular No. 2.768 of 16 July 1997 to raise the threshold for client identification in the Central Credit Risk system to R$20,000.00. Institutions listed in Art. 1 of Resolution No. 2.390 of 22 May 1997 must report the amounts of transactions for which clients, individuals and legal entities, are liable when the total on the reference date is equal to or greater than that amount, including guarantees. For clients below the threshold, only the consolidated global amount must be reported, separating liabilities of individuals and legal entities. Information must include client identification, amounts of debts due, overdue and written off as a loss, and amounts of joint obligations and guarantees provided. The Circular enters into force on publication, with effects from 1 November 1999.
