The Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan mandates that all banks operating in the Kingdom must fully comply with Article 18/A of the Credit Information Law No. 15 of 2010. This directive requires banks to utilize the credit inquiry service provided by CRIF-Jordan for client assessments. The order addresses observed violations where some banks failed to conduct these mandatory inquiries.

Circular to banks operating in the Kingdom
After Greetings,
Through our continuous follow-up on the activity of “CRIF- Jordan” company regarding the credit inquiry service, it was noticed that some banks do not inquire about the clients through that service as required, thus violating the provisions of Article (18/A) of the Credit Information Law No. (15) of 2010. Accordingly, I emphasize the necessity of undertaking adequate procedures to ensure full compliance with the provisions of this law. Respectfully,, Governor Dr. Ziad Fariz
