Circular on Foreign Exchange Operations and Movements of Funds and Securities with Abroad - CAMEX 1 - 85

fx

Financial institutions authorized to operate in foreign exchange and foreign exchange brokers must, from 03.10.84, require certification of the "conference" tariff in force at shipment, issued by the Secretaría de Transporte Fluvial y Marítimo, for freight payments; where agreed freight exceeds the "conference" tariff, only the importer's payment up to the certified value is recognized, in pesos in the country or abroad in foreign currency. A similar limitation applies to transport companies and their agents. For shipments made up to 09.10.84 or covered by letters of credit opened before this circular, the difference above the conference rate requires a request to the Central Bank with information and vouchers justifying payment.
