Circular on the Benchmarks Regulation (BMR) – Update to the Information Gathered relating to the Use of Benchmarks
The MFSA requires all market participants, excluding insurance intermediaries, to submit a form detailing their exposure to critical and other benchmarks as of 31 August 2024. Submissions must be sent to benchmarks@mfsa.mt by Friday, 20 September 2024, with entities failing to respond by this deadline considered non-users for regulatory purposes. This obligation applies to MFSA license holders including credit institutions, financial institutions, investment funds, and investment service providers, but does not require NIL returns from entities not using benchmarks.
