Circular on the Benchmarks Regulation (‘BMR’) – Update to the Information Gathered relating to the Use of Benchmarks
The MFSA requires all market participants, excluding insurance intermediaries, to submit a form detailing their exposure to critical and other benchmarks as of 30 June 2025. Submissions must be sent to bencmharks@mfsa.mt by 26 September 2025, with entities failing to respond considered non-users for regulatory purposes. This obligation applies to MFSA license holders including credit institutions, investment funds, and insurance undertakings that use benchmarks as defined in the Benchmarks Regulation.
