Circular OPASI 2-409: Savings Deposits, Remuneration Payments, and Special Accounts. Regulatory Adaptation

First-degree commercial banks, financial companies, credit unions, and savings and loan societies must notify the Superintendence of Financial and Currency Entities 15 calendar days before offering savings accounts. Entities must verify holder identity, record basic account offers, and prevent illicit activities. Counter deposits require specific receipt data, while ATM and electronic transactions must generate essential records. Fee-free limits include two counter operations, three same-network ATM uses, and one different-network ATM use monthly. This circular replaces prior rules on savings deposits effective 22/01/2010.
