The Central Bank of Argentina amends the Credit Policy norms to permit financial institutions to grant guarantees to non-residents for foreign commercial transactions, provided the applicant provides full local counter-guarantees in the same currency using preferred guarantees. The circular also updates Section 5.1 to explicitly admit credits to non-residents arising from settlement lags in securities or foreign currency operations. These changes, effective September 15, 2018, apply to all financial entities supervised by the Bank.
