Circular Re. Shariah Governance rules for finance companies

Finance companies licensed for real estate, productive asset, SME, leasing, credit card, or consumer financing must establish a Shariah Committee of two to five members, appoint an independent chairman, and disclose member CVs on their website. The Board must approve policies, ensure committee independence, and notify the regulator within five days of membership changes. The committee must meet at least every six months, issue timely decisions, and submit an annual compliance report. These instructions replace prior rules and take effect on January 1, 2022.
