Licensed banks must submit the minutes of the Audit Committee and Board of Directors meetings discussing or approving annual and semi-annual financial statements along with the audited reports. Additionally, the relevant financial, audit, and statement preparation departments within the bank, along with the external auditor, must sign the accompanying statements to confirm review and data consistency. Circular to Licensed Banks
Greetings,
With the aim of accelerating the study of banks' financial statements and raising the level of accuracy of the data and information attached to these statements, and subsequently referring to our Circular No. (10/1/11141) dated 12/11/2007 regarding banks' financial statements, we emphasize the necessity of the following:
Providing us with the minutes of the Audit Committee meeting and the Board of Directors meeting during which the annual and semi-annual financial statements were discussed or approved, attached to the financial statements audited or reviewed by the auditor when delivered to the Central Bank of Jordan in due course.
Having each of the departments concerned with the statements attached to the annual and semi-annual financial statements, the financial department, and the audit department in the bank sign the statements provided to the Central Bank, while emphasizing the necessity for the external auditor to sign these statements to indicate their review and that the data contained therein matches the data in the financial statements.
Noting in this regard that the provisions of our aforementioned circular shall apply starting from the final financial statements for the year 2015.
Please accept our highest respect,
The Governor
Dr. Ziad Friez
