Based on the provisions of Article (50/A) of the Central Bank Law and following our memorandum No. (96/764) dated 22/9/1996, and within the framework of the Central Bank's efforts to improve the quality of disseminated statistical data, particularly those related to the Jordanian Balance of Payments (specifically the workers' remittances item), to keep pace with local and international economic developments, I have decided the following:
Adoption of Forms No. (18/6/8) and (19/6/8) and cancellation of Forms No. (15/6/8) and (13/6/8), provided that they continue to be supplied with data for a period of six months for comparison purposes (i.e., up to the data for February 2009).
Adherence to the definitions contained in the attached list regarding incoming and outgoing remittances when filling out the forms mentioned in item (1) above, especially the definition of the concept of residency.
Emphasizing to all your correspondents abroad the necessity of providing accurate information regarding the purpose of incoming remittances.
This circular shall be implemented effective from the data for September 2008.
