Rule · CBJ · 3 Nov 2016
Licensed banks are required to strictly adhere to previous Central Bank of Jordan circulars prohibiting the public announcement of preliminary or unaudited financial results and unauthorized data items prior to Central Bank approval. This directive reinforces existing regulations under legal penalties to prevent banks from disclosing final or semi-annual results before they have been formally approved by the regulator.

Circular to Licensed Banks
Greetings,
It has been observed that some banks announce their final or semi-annual financial results before approval by the Central Bank of Jordan, without noting that these results are preliminary and not approved by the Central Bank. This is in addition to the announcement of certain items related to these data that are not permitted for public disclosure, thereby violating the instructions of the Central Bank of Jordan contained in Circular No. (2322/2/10) dated 22/2/2011 and Circular No. (1433/2/10) dated 2/2/2010.
Accordingly, I emphasize the necessity of full compliance with the above instructions under the threat of legal penalties.
Please accept the assurances of highest respect,
Governor
Dr. Ziad Fariz
